A disguised ship with modern tech in the Age of Sail
"if a third party happened to be watching nearby" - watching a ship when it's anchored, or when it is engaged in combat?

Can blind people build a spaceship and land on the Moon?
@Robert Rapplean we don't have a time limit here, do we? So, it would take generations if it has to be. The people would definitely not die out (they are not "suddenly blind"), unless their environment is hostile. To me, the question is only whether they would be able to keep their knowledge though the "adaptation period".

If 120 experts in 12 different fields were sent back 10,000 years, could they recreate the 21st century in 100 years?
@Tom historically, many cultures had switched their religion rather quickly, and in many cases took this switch rather seriously. There were old religious holdouts, of course, but they were not affecting the attitude of general population.

@Tom Are you trying to say that German tribes won't accept monotheism? And you are also trying to pivot from industrialization to cultural traditions. In that case it's hard to to argue, because we can't find any reasonable comparison between a modern culture and a 10,000 BC culture.

@Tom - I suspect that most of the things around you were made in rapidly industrialized countries. As far as psychology and sociology works, that's why I proposed to make it a religion. If the Lord says you should go to a factory and work at the assembly line - who are you to question His word?

@Tom keep in mind that we have some 70 years or more before we start working on chips. The chipmaking generation would not only have studied modern math and science in school - their parents and grandparents would have had the same luxury 25-50 years before.

How safe it would be to look at the other planet in double-planet system with naked eye?
yes, that a valid point - but only to an extent. Venus' albedo is significantly higher that Moon's (0.69 vs 0.14), which means that Venus' surface would be 4-5 times brighter than Moon's. But worry not - this brightness will still be much less than Sun's. Here's another comparison - astronauts have no problem looking at the Earth from space (from any distance). Though looking at the Sun is indeed dangerous.

It's safe to look at the Moon, and even if were closer, it's surface brightness wouldn't be higher.

What would be some consequences if >80% of people were women?
What is the tech level of this world? Biology is advanced, Ok, but what about construction and military?

How many celestial objects are required for navigation?
Hmm, this is like "How many wrenches do I need for the job?" - "Just one. But you need to have a full set to select the right one from it."

@JamieB "they won't move much even if your ship moves 20,000 light years" - and here is the problem. How do you know if you moved 20,000 light years or 19,999?

What is your range of travel? If less than 100 light years, you can select a few bright and dependable objects visible throughout your whole neighborhood. If whole galaxy, you have to rely on extragalactical objects (but then your accuracy will decrease), or have a whole catalogue of intergalactical "beacons". If you do FTL travel between galaxies, then all bets are off, because you essentially be doing "time travel", and objects that you try to rely on will be changing depending on how far you travel.
