Make the magnetic field fast varying and it pushes away the interstellar medium, increasing its braking. I lost interest Bussard ramjets when I found they required one million kilometre of intake diameter per ton of vehicle mass. One of Alan Bond's papers in the mid-1970's had both results. | |
