I've been an avid science fiction fan as long as I can remember. I'm an experienced writer of non-fiction, and want to write (good) SF some day.
On this SE, I apply knowledge of general sciences to come up with SF-ish explainations for all sorts of crazy things.
I also try to make SF more "hard" and at least not like "SyFy Original Movie" junk that assumes the reader/viewer knows less than a typical educated SF fan about things, doesn't understand scale and orders of magnitude, has an attention span that doesn't last through the commercial break, etc.
Like: Asimov, Egan, Hal Clement, Robert L. Forward.
