Oct 12, 2019 at 12:41 comment added Pete Becker Why do they need chairs?
Oct 12, 2019 at 6:55 comment added CyberianRat Could they curve their tail around the top of the backrest and hang from it? (Essentially sitting on the backrest.) The keyboard would be on the seat, and they could type with both hands and feet.

Oct 12, 2019 at 3:42 comment added Theraot I'm voting to close as opinion based because there are plenty of possible valid chair designs for fantasy tailed humans. Just as there are plenty of possible valid chair designs for humans. You have criteria to discard answers but not to pick one.

Oct 11, 2019 at 17:24 comment added WiredPrairie I thought at first you were referring to these: [Draconians] (dragonlance.fandom.com/wiki/Draconian) from D&D/Dragonlance. :)

Oct 11, 2019 at 10:36 comment added Backup Plan I highly recommend to outsource this to Fiverr, there you can ask people to make a design proposal from up to 5 dollars. See even the Video from Dope or Nope in which they let people design absurd ideas for them and get pretty awesome answers.

Oct 11, 2019 at 7:46 comment added Chronocidal Am I right in thinking that your description (" a thick lizard like tail which extends down from their tailbone and then slowly curves upwards until it is horizontal to the ground") means that the tail heads vertically straight down, next to the thighs, instead of sticking out horizontally like many of these answers seems to assume? A sketch/image/diagram might help people to visualise it better.

Oct 11, 2019 at 2:27 comment added John You answered your own question, they would have a hole for the tail. And just like human chairs there would not be one design but thousands, and that is even assuming they use chair not every human culture does.

Oct 11, 2019 at 0:02 comment added Shadowzee @LiJun Does Dragon ball not used thin flexible monkey tails instead of thick lizard like tails? I know they can wrap their tails around their waist and sometimes cut it off. If it helps you visualize it, It would be more like a crocodile sitting in a chair than a monkey.
Oct 10, 2019 at 23:56 comment added Li Jun there also a hole chair design from dragon ball i have seeing in the past (i cant found it) not sure is it made by the original creator or not. it similar like the hole chair i link except it have a slit in the middle back and some have combination of a reverse toilet hole too.
Oct 10, 2019 at 23:54 comment added Shadowzee @LiJun That doesn't address point C). The Tailbone points down and the tail extends downwards first before curving up. A creature who was born with a tail wouldn't design their chairs to work without tails and suddenly realize they have tails and need a hole. If it was to be used, the hole would likely need to be half on the seat of the chair as well, however this raises the issue of them having to carefully place their tail into the chair before they can sit.
Oct 10, 2019 at 23:49 comment added Li Jun why are this not acceptable? hole chair
Oct 10, 2019 at 23:09 comment added Shadowzee @JasonClyde Did not know that.... I thought it was familiar. I guess I can give them some very harsh laws which normal humans would find excessively harsh, but would be appropriate for their dragon like bodies.
Oct 10, 2019 at 23:04 comment added Simon Price Just letting you know, Draconian is already a word that refers to excessively harsh, fascist-level laws.
