Apr 22, 2015 at 10:32 comment added Kami UV light for a vampire hunter? Or expanding the concept further, a world with little or no light would possibly make creatures susceptible to a sudden flash or light - stunning temporarily or possibly damaging if they are vulnerable to light (Infrared or UV light?).

Apr 21, 2015 at 15:45 comment added Mike Nichols Larry Niven's Known Space universe contains a genetically engineered plant called a Slaver Sunflower. Each individual plant has a small mirror that it uses to collect sunlight for photosynthesis, but the plants are capable of directing that light elsewhere. Whole fields of them can target flying things and incinerate them with their combined power

Apr 21, 2015 at 15:11 comment added Tim B Visible light would be preferred but extending outside visible ranges would be fine if it leads to a better answer.
Apr 21, 2015 at 15:09 comment added DoubleDouble Do you include gamma/xray/uv rays as "light" or do you mean only visible light?
