A wormhole is a "bridge" in spacetime which allow an object to travel between two points at a speed generally much faster than light, if not infinitely fast. They are possible in some situations in general relativity (e.g. in the case of Kerr black holes, Einstein-Rosen bridges exist). Wormholes have not yet been observed, though.
