so i want to make a world where theres no river or ocean but instead replaced by quicksand or the similar type. the people get water from rain and water spring or well.
and so i want to create warship for their naval battle, either to yaarrghh plunder the booty or invasion, since i think bridge is too predictable can easily cut off or blockade and creating bottleneck to the invader unless they widening it, and i dont know how much it cost to make bridge to cross an entire ocean compare to ship, or can it withstand wagon or mounted animal to keep crossing, but regardless, i want to make naval battle with warship, even if portable bridge like pontoon bridge and the similar stuff is possible or cheaper, so even if you bring that up, please also include regarding the ship design.
the size of the warship is varied, but for simplicity shake just assume they are as big as galleon ship.
i do think the ship bottom to be flat like raft in order for it to float, but i am not sure so correct me if i am wrong.
the ship is in wind sailing era so no steam power or wheel paddle, if wind is not sufficient to make it move please include how many people need to row it or what type of sail can achieve it (originally i want to use junk type of sail) or the numbers of sails, and its ok if the answers say theres no ship design with that size that can sail on quicksand too, at least i know raft can sail on it so small ship warfare at least feasible for me (but correct me if iam mistaken).
its wooden ship, so no weird shape to accommodate better sail in quicksand from metal shaping.
and since this is warship, i am worried regarding the canon fire or where to place them or its far better not use canon at all, since i think the recoil may can make the ship capsize or sink or get in deeper due to the shaking.
i also consider to include wave for the quicksand ocean (not decided yet, so you can ignore it) but i am not sure can normal ship float in it, since i see some video about sand wave that it can sink many thing, but correct me if it possible for ship to float.
and if possible please also include the math, since i am not good with math, and sorry if i make lots of misconception or the answer turn out to be obvious, i am not that knowledgeable about ship design, and my physic knowledge is at best similar to uga buga stone age.
feel free to edit my grammar and the tag to be appropriate since i am not sure what tag is better for my question.
