I had a idea of a alien flying creature on a low gravity planet that would hunt in a unique way.

It would evolve a biological gun on its forehead.

Is such thing plausible and how, if not why?

Note i don’t see how this is a duplicate to a question called fruit exploding mechanism?

  • $\begingroup$ I think this is not a duplicate. The other question is about exploding fruots. I have an answer for this one. $\endgroup$ – Renan Apr 10 at 14:49
  • $\begingroup$ Check out the Bombardier Beetle. It's butt is basically a steam cannon. Or something like a slingshot/bow, only with that weird stuff fleas and mantis shrimp use to store energy and release it all real fast. A mantis shrimp's punch accelerates as fast as a .22 round in the barrel, WHILE UNDERWATER. Take that and throw in some porcupine quills, and you've got an animal that can shoot its spines and has plenty to shoot. $\endgroup$ – Mark Storer Apr 10 at 17:58
  • $\begingroup$ IMHO, this is no more far-fetched than Larry Niven's Stage Trees. See the story, "A Relic of the Empire" URL discussing it here: larryniven.fandom.com/wiki/A_Relic_of_the_Empire $\endgroup$ – Catalyst Jul 7 at 5:07
