Something like THAAD would be required to intercept at that kind of speed – unless your drop-pod burns off all its speed too soon and decends slowly for 10 mins on a parachute at the end, which would be kinda pointless, and would pretty much be a parachute deployment, not a drop-pod (the OP is asking about drop-pods as opposed to parachutes). | |
