Jan 3, 2017 at 13:54 | comment | added | TomTom | @Jodrell Which is totally useless the moment you run out of Brezel, Weisswurst and good beer or any of the less civilized foods ;) The carrier then has plenty of nuclear fuel to drive around a starved crew ;)

Jan 3, 2017 at 13:03 | comment | added | Jodrell | @TomTom the Aircraft Carriers of the US Navy are in fact nuclear powered and do not require refueling. They are built with enough fuel for thier operational life, The USS Gerorge H.W. Bush has enough fuel for at least 20 years of continuous operation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_George_H.W._Bush
Jan 3, 2017 at 9:06 | comment | added | Ellesedil | My first thought myself was "Well, you hide him on Air Force One until either a) zombies learn how to fly or b) mid-air refueling becomes (more) difficult. Then, you fly to a military base." The logical extension, it seems to me, would to follow up with a nice flight from said military base to your aircraft carrier.
Jan 3, 2017 at 8:20 | comment | added | TomTom | @Snowman Yes, and in this case it would be very safe. Even with VERY smart zombies to handle the logistics of finding the carrier, then building a body pyramid under it it would be impossible because it would just move away slowly. This is as good as it goes.

Jan 3, 2017 at 4:42 | comment | added | user1975 | In this scenario, the aircraft carrier would have a... skeleton crew... and use extra space not used by sailors to store food and other supplies. Modern carrier battlegroups require constant resupply, but with a minimal crew, that could be mitigated.
Jan 3, 2017 at 4:13 | comment | added | Xandar The Zenon | @TomTom Fishing can offset that slightly.
Jan 2, 2017 at 16:43 | comment | added | TomTom | +1 on that. Also any ship is safe from zombies. Yes, they may be able to operate underwater (dependng on zombie type) - but they can not build a high pyramid (to reach the water level) against a moving ship. Standard zombies are also not smart enough for that.. Supply logistics are a problem, though. Aircraft carriers can operate quite some time without fuel - but food is running out fast.
