Dec 23, 2016 at 19:07 comment added jamesqf @kingledion: I've so far managed to avoid dying myself, but my neighbor managed 7 years. Heart attack at 95, revived, lived to be 102. Being brought back from the dead, or what would have been considered dead 2000 years ago, is not really all that uncommon these days. To wander from the topic, WRT JC that's something I wondered about back in Sunday School. I mean, if you're going to all the trouble of miraculously coming back from the dead, why not stick around for a while? Maybe drop in on Pilate and say "Neener, neener, neener." :-)

Dec 22, 2016 at 18:18 comment added jamesqf @kingledion: Came back? Yeah, for what, three whole days?
Dec 21, 2016 at 17:03 comment added Bellerophon @Delioth Ambush them on the road to Egypt and trap them till Herod arrives.
Dec 21, 2016 at 16:55 comment added Delioth @Bellerophon if we take parts of the bible as history, the reason Herod failed to kill Jesus was because the family fled to Egypt, and was thus not in Herod's domain for a time.
Dec 21, 2016 at 16:53 comment added Bellerophon @Delioth Didn't Herod kill tons of them? Just point out Jesus to him.
Dec 21, 2016 at 16:47 comment added Mixxiphoid I live in the Netherlands... Also, as stated in other answers Christmas wasn't always celebrated in the same way as it is today.
Dec 21, 2016 at 15:17 comment added kingledion @Mixxiphoid Any evidence of that?
Dec 21, 2016 at 9:15 comment added Mixxiphoid Note that in Europe there is a separate feast to Saint Nicolas, celebrated on either the 5th or 6th of december. Most people do not give presents to each other with Christmas, but rather with the feast of Saint Nicolas. The celebration of Christmas in Europe has nothing to do with Saint Nicolas.
Dec 20, 2016 at 22:24 comment added Delioth @Bellerophon the weight of our guilt should do nicely, what with having just murdered a child.
Dec 20, 2016 at 17:26 comment added Bellerophon @kingledion This time we'll seal the tomb with something heavier than a rock.
Dec 20, 2016 at 17:24 comment added kingledion You know, he already came back once after his enemies killed him. (Jesus, not St. Nick) Good luck.
