I also doubt that in most cases, even if the tank goes right over the tunnels, the tank will not get stuck. But deep soft ground can stop a tank (see vid2) and being stuck leaves an animal vulnerable (vid3). An animal that has evolved to trap and kill elephants may have a "decent chance" against a tank. But no more than a chance. I can't think of a type of animal more likely to be successful against what is a very well defended piece of equipment (see vid 1) | |

I'm trying to imagine a creature that could potentially evolve and not have to depend on genetic engineering. I don't think any direct attack of an animal on a tank can succeed without advanced magic (eg pooping high explosive), hence I suggest entrapment. | |

Sure it'll work in the first couple of battles, but after that, the armor units will wise up to this tactic and adapt accordingly. Either by maneuvering to stay at stand off distances from the aliens and use their canons/machine guns, or using air strikes to soften up/destroy the aliens. | |
