My personal thought out plot-line was that if a civilization were near underwater volcanoes. They may utilize them for not only geothermal energy, but also use the thermal vents to heat their writing instruments. Writing could be done on marine animal skins (as an example) But I guess a lot of that just depends on the overall setting for the civilization. So I guess my idea was more along the lines of structural change, but that is open to interpretation. | |
