Oct 14, 2016 at 21:04 comment added ohwilleke A fair point. Still some amount of infrared radiation must escape the ship, somehow - perhaps that would have to be incorporated with a heat exchanger and the soot removal system.
Oct 14, 2016 at 8:12 comment added kubanczyk There is no "chill of space". Instead you have a near-perfect isolation, which means it's hard to release any heat away from the ship. For real space vessels the overheating is a major design problem.
