Aug 26, 2016 at 16:51 | comment | added | UIDAlexD | @Jammin4CO Exactly, Just with explosives and a mech-sized polearm.
Aug 26, 2016 at 16:45 | comment | added | Jammin4CO | So, something like the WASP knife. waspinjection.com I am not an affiliate or connected in any way
Aug 26, 2016 at 13:05 | comment | added | user20787 | @UIDAlexD I mean, if we just want to be sure that we're destroying whatever is touched, explosives would ideally be some sort of HEAT round for armour penetrating capability.
Aug 26, 2016 at 13:02 | comment | added | Asoub | That reminds me of mad max fury road, when they have these explosive lances. the only problem is that for them, it's one-use only.
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:33 | comment | added | UIDAlexD | @Erik Hence the reloadable aspect of the shaped charge. The tip is designed to penetrate MAV armor, so I think it should handle some directional explosions aimed away from it. Once you yank the spear/pike/halberd out, some mechanism clanks in new charges and you're good to go... That is unless you're talking about taking on multiple opponents in close combat at the same time, in which case I agree a polearm is a bad idea.
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:27 | comment | added | UIDAlexD | @inappropriateCode I'm not so sure it's bound to be deadlier, but it's certainly an option. Depends on the design of the mech... Err, MAV. If you EMP a MAVs leg, you might just be EMPing its hydraulics - that's not going to do all that much. On the other hand, if all its internal space is filled with super-high-tech gear, then said EMP is going to be amazingly potent.
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:47 | comment | added | user20787 | Why not make the end discharge a localised EMP or electric discharge effect instead of explosives, if the target is a machine? Is bound to be deadlier.
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:31 | comment | added | Erik | Great if you have to kill one guy. Sounds problematic when you need to kill two.

Aug 25, 2016 at 18:31 | comment | added | Steve Mangiameli | I like this! A pole loaded with rockets, like a mechanical pencil housing lead tips. Stab a joint or get close to a joint and push a button, launching a rocket. The rocket could be loaded up with napalm igniting the inside of the MAV. The other end could be a pick axe or a morning star.
