Bonus points regarding the exotic matter: It's also used in some methods of near FTL travel, such as Runaway Motion allowing infinite acceleration in the direction of the negative center of mass, which while never hitting light speed would still get very, very fast. The negative mass in the drive could even be used at the destination for more stabilization of the wormhole. | |

Google shows the term Empire Time is well understood now, with some uses in 2005 citing this work or Orion’s Arm. So I guess this portion of this thesis became a successful meme, even if few know the origin? | |
