Dec 14, 2020 at 15:28 | comment | added | hszmv | This is interesting for the Greeky Myth of the origin of evil in the world: Pandora releases all the evils of mankind but shuts the lid before the very last evil is loosed upon the world: Hope. The idea is that hope is evil because it causes people to not work to the change they want, but put it aside as someone else's problem to deal with for them...
Dec 27, 2017 at 8:13 | comment | added | RemarkLima | Absolutely, all the southern hemisphere has to grind through winter without a holiday... And let's face it, just being forced to spend a few days with family can be the real killer!

Very bright artificial light can help some sufferers and LED tech makes it cheap and easy to obtain.. Worth a try, as is an Xmas vacation in Oz or NZ.

Dec 29, 2015 at 5:46 | comment | added | Slipp D. Thompson | Strange… my yearly depression usually starts after Halloween and ends just after New Years. All these forced celebrations and awkward sociality make me feel more lonely than ever. Once it's back to normal and I get to choose my company and schedule again, I feel all better.

Dec 24, 2015 at 8:06 | comment | added | Wolfie Inu | ... well, thanks for making me depressed about Christmas before it even happens. And I'm even in the Southern Hemisphere, so the seasonal problems don't apply :P
