Sep 23, 2022 at 16:46 comment added Ottie This is where I started too, but couldn't work out a way to make the moon occlude the sun for a non-trivial amount of time - good solution! One effect is that the sun would look crescent-shaped for most of the time, which would be very visually striking. Another is that there would be no perceptible "moon", or more precisely, the moon would always be new.
