That's a good idea! You can charge it up slowly from solar panels, then apply the power as needed. Although if you build an expensive space elevator you're probably gonna run it 24/7 to make your money back. Stuff going back down to the planet could be manufactured goods I suppose, or passengers, but probably a lot less than gets lifted up. Especially while we're building space infrastructure. Unless we mine asteroids. | |
