The tomb is used for purposes other than merely storing a corpse and people need to access it with some regularity. Possibly simply regularly maintaining the corpse or the magic/rituals required to ensure the deceased gets to, and stays in, their heaven/hell. Whatever the case, there are people who need to access the tomb and can't simply guard the door full-time against looters. Hence: puzzles/traps to keep out the uninitiated. | |
