May 12, 2021 at 18:48 comment added T.E.D. FWIW, there are in fact Giant cephalpods living in Earth's oceans today. However, they don't live more than about a decade, don't appear to be significantly more clever than their economy-sized brethren, and seem to spend most of their time trying to avoid being eaten by sperm whales.
