Jan 19, 2021 at 14:49 comment added Erik @DawoodibnKareem they are in the story, so if the answer doesn't work in the story, it's not very useful.
Jan 19, 2021 at 5:22 comment added Dawood ibn Kareem @o0' you seriously downvoted someone for a lack of factual accuracy regarding the dietary practices of vampires? You do understand that vampires aren't real, right?
Jan 18, 2021 at 23:50 comment added elemtilas @o0'. -- I think you might need to read more fiction! Just off hand, Terry Pratchett details the dietary needs of Discworld vampires, and their struggles to fit into normal human society. WP has a good list of folklore & fictional vampires' traits. Well worth the perusal. Fictional properties that allow vampires to consume animal blood (i.e., fresh from the slaughterhouse or butcher shop!) include Dr. Who, Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Discworld, Twilight, Warhammer, and many, many more.
Jan 18, 2021 at 17:55 comment added o0'. -1 unfortunately. This is a nice creative answer, and I appreciate it. But it's also technically wrong. In no fiction I've ever encountered (be it RPG, Book, Movie, Comic, anything) vampires were able to get the blood they need from rare foods. So this doesn't really apply. This answer doesn't deserve to go below 0 or be deleted, because it's still interesting, but shouldn't go above 0 either, because well it's basically wrong.
Jan 18, 2021 at 17:05 comment added Tristan the "blood" that drips off steaks is not blood, but myoglobin, which is largely absent in actual blood. Unless there is quite a coincidence, or the vampire's cravings are purely psychological (in which case you should avoid passing this info on to them), then they will not be sated with steak, no matter how rare
