Just because it "evolved" doesn't mean that it "was not created" specifically to serve as armour. In fact, serving as armour may be the purpose to which it evolved— The armour organism provides the warrior caste of your society with protection during raids, and in turn, it gets food and spreads offspring far more easily than it'd be able to on its own, as has been since time immemorial. | |
