Chiton scales are used as a model for future bullet proof vests since their armor is both very flexible and provides excellent coverage at the same time due to the shape of the scales. nature.com/articles/s41467-019-13215-0?proof | |
Jan 11, 2021 at 19:36 | comment | added | Anketam | The other benefit is that it is a hive and not a singular creature. If in combat a bunch of the ants are killed as a result of an attack, as long as the queen(s) are still good more ants can be quickly bred to replace the lost ones. | |
