At the very least you'll lose a lot of the quality of work, the efficiencies and refinements, because they're no longer important. Formula 1 cars, supersonic aircraft, so many things that will fall by the wayside as unnecessary to the new world.
Jun 20, 2019 at 13:18 comment added user65791 Yes, I see this. But that's also why I tried to frame the question in terms of technological capability rather than specific technologies. It's one thing to scrap some industries; another entirely to lose the ability to recreate them.
