In fact should the theorised negative matter actually be proven to exist it should have equivalent counterparts to both normal matter and antimatter but all with negative mass-energy. | |

This radiation converts ordinary matter into Negative Matter (so, matter with a negative mass). — maybe you wouldn't use while in atmosphere because it could turn air into anti-air, and make it fly into the space (prob. with FTL speed)?

so a ship has to first leave the atmosphere Just to test where you want to take this, would the FTL drive work in a sufficiently sized vacuum space on the planet's surface? In other words, it is the atmosphere that's the blocking issue?
