In the long term, it's much more likely to result in the planet being perturbed into some alternate, stable orbit, being ejected from that solar system, or colliding with some other large body in the system. It's unlikely for something which is being perturbed within a human-noticeable time-frame to have had an orbit that's stable long enough for life to have developed and flourished. | |
