May 31, 2015 at 9:17 | comment | added | mechalynx | Looking at this more than 6 months later, I'm noticing that I never calculated whether bouncing off the surface would ever be possible with this massive a ship under Europa's gravity, I never calculated the actual impact acceleration and forces (or materials required, or if they'd be survivable), nor the angle of attack or the possible tug vehicle to get to the ice moon (or possible aerobraking within the tenuous atmosphere), nor the precise behavior of meting ice with a giant buckyball. Also, the sketch is too fast, because I originally made it on a much slower machine.
Oct 8, 2014 at 23:23 | comment | added | mechalynx | @HDE226868 took me a few days to post it after the question was asked so it didn't get much visibility. I planned more details but I just gave up at some point, it was taking too long.
