May 1, 2019 at 6:58 comment added Russell McMahon @RayButterworth As a "getting older" New Zealander, just across pond from Australia, I'm well aware of the Queen's ability to dismiss and appoint Parliamentary heads, and of this having happened. While I agree that that would have been useful to include in my answer, I don't feel that it is the greatest example of the British monarchy's exercise of power. I feel (such things are necessarily opinion) that the aspects I mentioned have greater long term import than occasioning the very occasional changing of the guard.
