Jan 19, 2018 at 18:27 comment added doctordonna @Piomicron Your question asks about omissions to diets, not supplements. Assuming vampires drink blood for the iron content, then iron supplements are feasible.

Jan 16, 2018 at 5:16 comment added Kevin FYI: Synthetic human blood is infeasible with current technology, if you want it to be just as good as the real thing for the purpose of transfusion. Maybe your vampires can make do with a crappy imitation, but you'll want to think about the differences.
Jan 16, 2018 at 1:46 comment added doctordonna If your werewolf biology follows closely to dogs then there are multiple foods either poisonous or aggravating to their diets : alternet.org/food/… As for vampires, are they affected by the sun? Since humans consume vitamin D to make up for lack of sun exposure, could your vampires be sensitive to foods high in vit. D?
Jan 15, 2018 at 18:38 comment added Martin James I asked the were pack at the village club, but all they would admit to is dislike for sprouts and McNuggets. I was going to check with the vamps who run the bar, but they're on vacation:(

Jan 15, 2018 at 15:27 comment added Piomicron @Kjörling Wolves aren't genetically different to dogs, such that any venn diagram with wolves and dogs would have wolves wholly within dogs.
Jan 15, 2018 at 14:01 comment added user @Piomicron A quick Google search for what is poisonous to dogs would go a long way toward answering that. Chocolate (actually cocoa) (actually theobromine) isn't the only thing poisonouos to dogs. Wolves and dogs are different, but probably similar enough in this case that dogs are a reasonable approximation of Wolfie.

Jan 15, 2018 at 13:42 comment added Raditz_35 @Piomicron Please edit your question so it becomes answerable instead of just adding a comment. You should maybe also specify where your story is set geographically since what food people eat depends on their cultural background. From your black pudding comment, I guess the UK or Scandinavia, but blood is eaten in any culture I'm aware of - I don't want to make that assumption on that comment alone and neither should anyone else
Jan 15, 2018 at 13:05 comment added Piomicron @Raditz_36 I'm not aware of which foods would be risky. What foods are high in silver? Other than chocolate, what's Wolfie gonna find poisonous? What kinds of bark are eaten?

Jan 15, 2018 at 11:42 comment added Kaotis @Raditz_35 i think he is maybe referring to the approx $ per day in food but you are right he/she should clarify what is the question.
Jan 15, 2018 at 11:29 comment added Raditz_35 In the topic, you are asking what food they can't eat, in your body you are answering that question and then you ask something completely different about "dietary allowances"? Why don't you just take the same as humans have, you do not specify a reason why they would be different? Could you clean up that mess?
